On January 18, Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with the new ambassador of the Republic of Greece to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Christo Kapodistria.
According to the information given to APA by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the meeting, the minister presented a copy of the ambassador's credentials to Jeyhun Bayramova.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov congratulated Ambassador Kristo Kaposdistria on his appointment and wished him success in his future activities.
At the meeting, a number of issues on the agenda of bilateral cooperation, political, economic, energy, humanitarian, educational, tourism and other fields, as well as issues of cooperation on multilateral platforms were discussed.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov mentioned the importance of continuing the political dialogue between the two countries, referring to his meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece Nikos Dendias in the cities of Stockholm and Lodz within the framework of the meetings of the Council of Ministers of the OSCE.
On October 1 of last year, within the framework of the opening ceremony of the Greece-Bulgaria Gas Interconnector, he emphasized the importance of the meeting of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev with the Prime Minister of Greece Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov gave detailed information to his interlocutor about the process of normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, peace building, the steps and initiatives taken in this direction by Azerbaijan, the restoration and construction works carried out in the liberated areas, as well as the obstacles and non-constructive position of Armenia within the said processes. gave
For his part, Christo Kapodistria stressed that he will spare no effort to expand the cooperation between the two countries during his diplomatic activity.
Ambassador K. Kapodistria noted that there is a wide potential for cooperation between Azerbaijan and Greece, and expressed the importance of expanding cooperation between the countries in tourism, energy, economy, transport and other fields.
During the meeting, the two countries also exchanged views on cooperation and other issues of mutual interest within the framework of international organizations.
