If the Russian aggressors had succeeded in their plan to
occupy the
south of Ukraine, Russian troops would have been in Chisinau a few days later.
This was stated by the President of Moldova, Maya Sandu, during a panel discussion within the framework of the Davos Economic Forum, the
correspondent of Ukrinform
reports .
At the same time, she does not see that the military threat to her country is greater today than in the spring of last year.
"Everyone knew that if Ukraine did not fight, the Russians would be in Chisinau in a few days," Sandu said.
At the same time, according to Sandu, Moldova is taking steps to improve its own defense and strengthen the country's defense sector.
We will remind, earlier the former Minister of Defense of
Romania, Vasile Dincu, said that Russia is attacking Moldova from the inside
.
In addition, we previously reported that the head of the Information and Security Service of Moldova, Alexandru Mustiatse, stated that
Russia plans to invade Moldova in 2023.
According to him, the implementation of this scenario depends on the development of the war in Ukraine.
