An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.8 was registered today near the city of Ayvaçuk, Canakkale County, northwestern Turkey, Turkish broadcaster CNN-Turk reported, citing the government's Disaster and Emergency Management Directorate (AFAD).
The earthquake occurred in the sea not far from Ayvadzhuk.
The earthquake was registered at 10:54 a.m. local time (09:54 a.m. Bulgarian time) at a depth of 8.77 kilometers.
No material damage or injured people have been reported, BTA notes.
