Russia struck a house in Dnipro, killing at least 40 people, most likely with an X-22 anti-ship missile

, which is inaccurate when used against ground targets.

The Ministry of Defense of Great Britain informs about this.

British intelligence noted that Russia resumed long-range missile strikes on Ukrainian infrastructure on January 14.

Then, for the first time in two weeks, the occupiers launched dozens of rockets.

It is indicated that, as during the previous eight mass shellings from October 11, 2022, the strikes of the Russian Federation were primarily aimed at the power grid.

"A large Kh-22 anti-ship missile fired from a Tu-22M3 bomber likely hit a residential building in Dnipro, killing at least 40 people. Russia falsely implied that a Ukrainian air defense missile was responsible. AS-4 KITCHEN (Kh-22 – ed., the name mentioned by the intelligence is a NATO classification) is known to be inaccurate when used against ground targets, as its radar guidance system does not distinguish targets in urban areas," the report said.

Similar Russian weapons are responsible for other incidents with mass casualties among the civilian population, including the shelling of a shopping center in

Kremenchuk

on June 27, 2022.

British intelligence has emphasized that

the Kh-22 missiles are not suitable for high-precision strikes, and evidence from the war in Ukraine suggests that the dysfunction of Russia's long-range strike potential is deeper.

"While some missiles, such as KITCHEN, are unsuitable for high-precision strikes, evidence from the war in Ukraine suggests that the dysfunction in Russia's long-range strike capability is deeper. Most likely, it is trying to dynamically identify targets and gain access to rapid and an accurate assessment of the damage caused," the British Ministry of Defense added.
