Customs officers found 4,820 kg of cannabis in a car leaving Bulgaria through the Kapitan Andreevo border crossing, the Customs Agency reported.

On January 15, a car arrived at the checkpoint in which two men - Bulgarian citizens - were traveling from Bulgaria to Turkey.

The vehicle was selected for a customs inspection, during which 16 polyethylene vacuum bags were found in the spare tire.

The envelopes contained cannabis.

The narcotic substance weighs 4,820 kg and is worth BGN 19,280. 

Two people were arrested for 43 balls of cannabis

The two men and the vehicle used to commit the offense were detained.

The case is being investigated under the supervision of the prosecutor's office in Haskovo.
