In the Odesa region, there is a significant shortage

of electricity

due to the latest Russian attack on the energy infrastructure.

In this regard, emergency power outages will continue to operate in the region.

This was reported in DTEK today, January 17.

"As a result of this attack, Ukrenergo has reduced the amount of electricity that Odesa Oblast can use," the company explained.

As of January 17, "DTEK Odesa Electric Power Company" received an order for restrictions, which are half of the normal consumption of the region.

At the same time, critical infrastructure that is not subject to blackouts uses almost half of all available electricity.

"Under such conditions, it is impossible to adhere to the schedules, because there is not enough available capacity. That is why emergency shutdowns continue to operate in the region. It will be possible to return to the schedules only when the deficit decreases, and Ukrenergo will be able to provide higher consumption limits for Odesa", - they say in DTEK

The company noted that power engineers are working to stabilize the situation in order to return to the predicted outage schedules as soon as possible.

The situation with electricity in Ukraine

As of the morning of January 17, there is a significant power deficit in the power system, especially during the morning and evening consumption peaks, due to which

emergency blackouts have already been applied in six regions of Ukraine.

Massive missile and drone attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure led to this.
