Head of State Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that Ukraine will receive one Patriot anti-missile defense battery from the Netherlands, which is considered the best air defense system in the world.

The Ukrainian president announced this in a traditional video message on Tuesday, January 17.

According to him, now Ukraine will have three Patriot batteries

in service for protection against Russian missiles :

one each from the USA, Germany and the Netherlands.

"Just today, very important news came from the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte. The news is actually a continuation of our recent negotiations with him. Another Patriot battery will be provided to Ukraine. Thank you, Mark! That means we already have

three guaranteed batteries.

But this is only the beginning We are working on new solutions to strengthen our air defense," said the Ukrainian leader.

It will be recalled that on January 17, during a meeting with US President Joe Biden in Washington, the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte, said that the country will join the American-German initiative to transfer the Patriot air defense system to Ukraine.

At the end of December 2022, US President Joe Biden announced that he would transfer the Patriot air defense system to Ukraine to protect against Russian missiles.

This happened within the framework of another package of military aid from the United States.
