The terrorist country Russia announced the "oppression" of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate in Ukraine and decided to convene a meeting of the UN Security Council.

Members of the Security Council will gather on Tuesday, January 17.

This is reported by Ukrinform.

The secretariat of the Security Council confirmed that the application from Russia has been received and the meeting will be held on Tuesday afternoon (at 22:00 Kyiv time).

Political scientist Volodymyr Fesenko told Channel 24 that Russia at the Security Council is going to bend its campaign line, to convince that Russian speakers and the Russian church are being oppressed in Ukraine.

The political scientist is convinced that due to Russia's special status in the UN Security Council and its behavior patterns, this platform has turned from a political body into a platform for

"political and even ideological shows."

We will remind you that the Verkhovna Rada registered a draft law on banning the activities of MPs on the territory of Ukraine.

In addition, in all regions of Ukraine, the SBU conducts inspections in churches and monasteries of the UOC MP.

Propaganda materials will be found during searches.

And in December 2022, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, put into effect NSDC sanctions against 10 influential representatives of the UOC (MP) or those closely associated with this organization.

The members of the sanctions list came up with the following initiatives: they proposed to join the dioceses headed by them to the Russian Orthodox Church;

agreed to cooperate with the occupation authorities;

promote pro-Russian narratives;

justify Russia's military aggression in Ukraine.
