Today is the second day of BJP's national executive meeting.

New Delhi:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with BJP's national executive met former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa for 15 minutes on Monday.

Karnataka is one of the states which will go to polls this year.

Election strategy for these nine states was the main agenda of the ongoing two-day executive meeting in New Delhi, which was attended by PM Modi and key party leaders and ministers.

BJP has recently included Yeddyurappa in the party parliamentary board.

Karnataka assembly elections are to be held in the next three-four months and the challenge before the BJP is to save the stronghold.

Yeddyurappa, who has a large base of Lingayat supporters, is gaining in importance as the elections approach.

The meeting with PM Modi has given rise to speculations of a change in the fortunes of the four-time Chief Minister of Karnataka.

Yediyurappa's successor, Basavaraj Bommai has been in the news for the wrong reasons rather than the right things.

Bommai's tenure at the top post looked bleak last year as the opposition leveled corruption charges against him and launched the PayCM campaign.

But the party had said that there would be no change and elections would be held in the state under his leadership.

BJP's chief strategist Amit Shah has assigned "Mission 136" to the Karnataka unit.

Whose aim is to win 136 out of 224 seats in the state.

But this may be an uphill task against the backdrop of the Congress challenge in Karnataka.

Karnataka is one of the few states where the party enjoys grassroots support.

The BJP stormed to power for the third time in the southern state of Karnataka as the coalition government of the Congress and HD Kumaraswamy's Janata Dal Secular collapsed following the exodus of its MLAs.

The ruling coalition accused the BJP of running Operation Lotus.

Bommai and party's state unit president Nalin Kumar Kateel also met Arun Singh, general secretary in-charge of the state.

Today is the second and last day of BJP's national executive meeting.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the closing ceremony of this meeting.

Along with this, the PM will give mantras for success in the coming elections.

Earlier yesterday, on the first day of the meeting, BJP President JP Nadda called upon all office bearers to gear up for the elections.

A political resolution was also passed in the meeting.

A roadshow of Prime Minister Narendra Modi also took place before the executive meeting.
