Turkey is taking strong steps towards becoming an energy hub.

According to the information of "APA-Economics" with reference to "Anadolu" Agency of Turkey, this was stated by the Minister of Industry and Technology of Turkey, Mustafa Varank, during the meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, Peter Siyarto.

During the meeting, Mustafa Varank noted Turkey's work in the direction of increasing both solar and wind power.

"Turkey is taking strong steps towards becoming an energy hub.

As you know, we are doubling the output capacity of the line (gas pipeline - ed.) coming from Azerbaijan in the coming period.

Again, preparations for a new energy terminal in Thrace, Turkey, are nearing completion.

Natural gas will start coming to our country from here.

We recently made a big discovery of natural gas in the Black Sea.

Of course, the fact that Turkey is a center of hydrocarbons will give us great contributions, but we will, of course, continue to share this opportunity and strength with friendly and allied countries," added Mustafa Varank.

Stating that his country has taken some steps to diversify its energy supply, Peter Siyarto said that the most realistic option in this context is the delivery of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Hungary, which will be brought to Turkish ports in addition to Azerbaijani gas.
