The European Union will send a new monitoring mission to Armenia in 1 month.

This time the mission will be sent for 2 years instead of 2 months.

APA reports that the Armenian service of "Azadlig" radio broadcasted information about this.

According to information, the mission will start on February 20.

Today, the issue will be discussed at a meeting of European Union ambassadors, and the final decision will be made at a meeting of EU foreign ministers next week.

The decision was approved last week by the Council of Europe's political and security committee, as well as the civil affairs committee for crisis management, the main body dealing with monitoring missions.

Unlike the 40-person group sent to the Azerbaijan-Armenia border in October of last year, this time the mission will cover the entire territory of Armenia.

It is emphasized that the members of the mission will be unarmed.
