Military expert Serhii Zgurets noted that to protect Kyiv from Russian missiles, in particular, the S-400 requires two 

air defense systems .

And in general, Ukraine needs ten batteries.

Serhii Zgurets said this in a comment to UNIAN.

The expert noted that two Patriot air defense systems are needed to cover the capital.

It should be noted that the main purpose of air defense systems is to cover naval and air bases, as well as large administrative and industrial centers from possible means of air attack.

"And in general, it would be optimal for Ukraine to deploy ten batteries. This is the average number necessary to cover a number of directions in which there may be a threat of the Russians using S-400 missiles or other similar models," Zgurets emphasized.

At the same time, he noted that it is irrational to shoot down the Shaheds, for example, with Patriot missiles for several million.
