Germany may transfer 10 to 15 refurbished Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine by the end of 2023, but only on the condition that the German government makes this decision in the near future.

This was reported to the Frankfurte Allgemeine Zeitung by sources in the defense sector.

It is noted that the first delivery is possible already in October or November 2023.

Sources add that if the German government "gives the green light", it will be possible to supply one Leopard 2 per week from the third quarter.

In addition, the news agency writes that Germany is also considering the possibility of supplying Ukraine with 29 more Leopard 2 tanks, which are currently destined for Slovakia and the Czech Republic.

However, Prague and Bratislava will have to agree to this.

In exchange, Slovakia and the Czech Republic could then receive about 3 tanks per month, starting from 2024.
