The Ministry of Defense announced that it has not sold Su-25 aircraft for more than 10 years.

Yesterday, Bloomberg reported that NATO countries bought 14 from Bulgaria and provided them to Ukraine.

The Minister of Defense Dimitar Stoyanov is categorical - the department did not provide Kyiv with equipment and weapons other than those approved by the parliament

"20 Su-25 aircraft were sold in the period 2005 - 2012 to four companies and exported to Georgia," said Dimitar Stoyanov, BTV reported.

An answer also came from the Ministry of Economy:

"For the period 2005-2012, the Interagency Commission for Export Control and Non-Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction authorized the export of a total of 14 Su-25s that were exported to a non-NATO country other than Ukraine."

The answer also makes it clear that a Bulgarian company has concluded a deal with the Ministry of Defense of Georgia, which will use them for spare parts.

In the last year, the Ministry of Defense has not sold T-72 tanks either, Stoyanov specified.

The Bulgarian armed forces currently have 14 Su-25s.
