The Speaker of the Armenian Parliament, Alen Simonyan, was interrogated as a victim in the Yerevan court today.

APA reports that "Sputnik Armenia" published information about this.

Simonyan was interrogated as a victim in the criminal case against Levon Yeranosyan, the former deputy chief of police.

Yeranosyan himself took part in the court session presided over by Judge Arutyun Manukyan.

During the interrogation, Simonyan spoke about how he was injured during the protests in 2018: "I was standing on the left side of Bagramyan Street, in front of the barbed wire.

I saw a police helmet on top of the barbed wire and tried to take it, and one of the policemen hit me on the arm.

Meanwhile, an explosion took place."

Yeranosyan's lawyer, Tigran Safaryan, said during his speech at the court session that Simonyan's testimony to the preliminary investigation and today's testimony are seriously different.

It should be noted that on April 16 and 22, 2018, protests were held in Yerevan, and during the protests, "Zarya" sound grenades were used against the demonstrators, as a result of which more than 20 citizens were injured.

During the meeting, it was decided that the next court session will be held on April 6 at 15:00.

It should be noted that Levon Yeranosyan is accused of abuse of power.
