Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI), the National Police of the Dnipropetrovsk Region, and the Department of Military Counterintelligence of the SBU exposed businessmen who were contractors of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in misappropriating and reselling food products intended for the army.

This was reported in the press service of the SBI on Monday, January 16.

In 2022, the private enterprise received military contracts worth 2 billion hryvnias to supply products to more than 45 military units.

However, as it turned out, the entrepreneurs indicated one quantity of products in the documents, and completely different volumes were sent to the military units.

They resold the rest of the products through a network of intermediaries.

During the large-scale special operation, the SBI officers conducted dozens of searches, seizing, in particular, more than 30,000 cans of stewed products weighing more than 7 tons, which were already ready for resale.

In addition, almost UAH 4 million of funds in various currencies were seized from "rat" entrepreneurs who stole products from the Ukrainian military.

It is probably the proceeds of crime.

Law enforcement officers are investigating the "black bookkeeping" that was conducted at the company where illegal activities were carried out.

The seized products will be handed over to the military.

Dozens of cars used to transport stolen products were seized from entrepreneurs for the purpose of compensation.

Participants in the criminal scheme face up to eight years in prison.

It will be recalled that earlier the State Bureau of Investigation started a pre-trial investigation into the departure of conscripted Ukrainian citizens to Monaco during martial law.

Among them are well-known Ukrainian businessmen and politicians.
