On the eve of Epiphany

, the city authorities of Kyiv

ask local residents and guests of the capital to refrain from mass gatherings and events and to observe the restrictions that apply under martial law.

This was announced today, January 16, by the press service of the Kyiv City Council.

According to the appeal of the city authorities to religious organizations, in view of the military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, the holding of any mass events and gatherings, in particular religious ones, can be used by Russia or radical groups to commit provocations against believers and ordinary citizens in order to destabilize social and the religious situation in Kyiv

"At the same time, in order to avoid injuries and other dangerous situations, the city organizes lifeguards on duty at locations traditional for Vodohreshche. However, citizens are strongly urged to refrain from swimming in reservoirs at Vodohreshche this year," the city council said in a statement.
