"President Rumen Radev gave the mandate to himself. Indirectly, the chief prosecutor Ivan Geshev benefits from this situation, to the extent that there will be no judicial reform".

Political scientist Prof. Dimitar Vatsov, a lecturer at the NBU, began his comments to the BNR with this finding, and specified that the head of state, in order to preserve his power, chose to hand over the third exploratory mandate to the party that has the least chance of forming a government .

The political scientist expressed the opinion that with his positions on Ukraine, on the Eurozone and on the BSP paper ballot

The Bulgarian Socialist Party (abbreviated BSP) is unable to gather a majority to form a cabinet.

"There is one possibility that Kornelia Ninova will return Radev. There is a small chance that she will be able to form a coalition of the status quo. That is, to sell the mandate to GERB, DPS and possibly to "Bulgarski Vozhod". This is unlikely, because Boyko Borisov will prefer to have elections, because his party can grow due to a solid electoral core, and when voter turnout falls, this solid core will give more votes compared to other parties," commented Prof. Vatsov.

According to him, political representation is distorted through the series of caretaker governments: "A pro-Putin and pro-Kremlin minority rules. The majority, which is pro-European and votes for other parties, is not represented in the executive power."

Radev to the BSP: I stopped at your party in search of the best chance for a working government

With the current failure of the political system, we have over-privileging and empowerment of pro-Russian people in Bulgaria and over-privileging and empowerment through the prosecutor's office of unclear what shady interests are behind it, commented the political scientist.

Geshev is a major political player, pointed out the political scientist and specified: "He was like that when he entered the presidency in 2020. In Bulgaria, the prosecutor's office is a political media mouthpiece that stands against this or that at a given moment. The job of the prosecutor's office is to report to the court, and not in front of the media. The way the prosecutor's office operates cries out for reform. All politicians are left at the mercy of Mr. Geshev. He decides when to indict a politician and when not. He has become a clear symbol of lack of control and arbitrariness." .
