The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of North Macedonia, which this year chairs the OSCE, held a working meeting today with the Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba.

All about the topic:

Russian invasion of Ukraine 8918

Buyar Osmani is visiting Ukraine, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of North Macedonia reports.

At it, Osmani strongly condemned the ongoing Russian aggression against Ukraine, emphasized that the attacks against civilian targets have no justification and called on the Russian Federation to stop the war and rededicate itself to the principles of the OSCE - to resolve all challenges through diplomatic means.

The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights has documented over 18,000 victims since the beginning of the aggression.

The actual number of dead and injured is probably higher.

In addition, the UN has registered almost eight million Ukrainian refugees across Europe.

Almost five million are internally displaced.

These numbers are shocking.

Even if there is only one life lost or a future ruined, that is too high a price, Osmani said, stressing that the focus and main priority of the OSCE this year will be Ukraine.

Just visited the devastated areas in Borodyanka, the destruction is heartbreaking.

These Russian attacks caused immense suffering for the Ukrainian people and there are no excuses for these actions.

My thoughts are with those whose lives have been severely disrupted.

Once peace is restored and Russia withdraws its forces from the sovereign territory of Ukraine, the OSCE will offer its toolkit to help Ukraine recover from the damage of this war.

Buyar Osmani is on a visit to Ukraine as the Chairman of the OSCE

The OSCE is helping through the donor-funded Support Program for Ukraine during the war, but will do even more when peace comes.

I hope and believe that I will witness the beginning of peace and restoration during our presidency.

We are determined to fully commit to making this happen, Osmani said.

Earlier today, Osmani visited the city of Borodyanka in the Kyiv region, which was heavily affected by the hostilities.

The human suffering in #Ukraine must stop.
