Lollabrigida was born on July 4, 1927 in the Italian city of Subica in a family of furniture makers.

She was known for her roles in the films Fanfan-Tulip (1952) directed by

and Notre Dame Cathedral (1956) directed by

In 1976, Lallabrigida shot a documentary film about Cuba, for which she interviewed

Fidel Castro

In 1986, she acted as the chairman of the jury at the 36th Berlin Film Festival.

In 1992, her sculpture "Living Together", which symbolizes the harmony between childhood and nature, represented Italy at the World Exhibition in Spain.

In the same year, for this work, Lollabrigida was awarded the Order of the Legion of Honor from the hands of French President
