If Russian dictator Vladimir Putin fails to succeed in Ukraine by the spring of 2023, his entourage will no longer support him and force him to relinquish power.

Russian opposition politician Dmytro Gudkov expressed this opinion on the air of the FREEDOM TV channel.

He expressed the opinion that the capture of Ukraine was one of the elements of preparation for the 2024 presidential elections.

And if Putin had managed to succeed in the "military operation" a year ago, he could have even called early presidential elections for 2023.

"But everything did not go according to plan. It is clear that now the Kremlin is faced with a very serious problem - people are not ready for a long war, they want it to end as soon as possible. The reasons are different: the radicals want it to end in victory, some want it to end has ended at all. And, in my opinion, Putin does not have much time left to satisfy such a request. Therefore, it seems to me that

some new large-scale attack, counterattack and so on are being prepared for spring

," says Gudkov.

The oppositionist believes that if Putin loses the war, it will mean the liberation of all the occupied territories, which, in turn, will negatively affect his support from those around him.

"And if Putin loses the war, and the loss means the liberation of the occupied territories, then, most likely, he will no longer have the opportunity and strength to force his entourage to support him in 2024.

Then he will really be forced to leave

," says the oppositionist.

The Russian politician also added that Putin is now betting on mobilization in Russia and terrorist attacks in Ukraine.

We will remind you that the US Ambassador to NATO Julian Smith believes that the

 war

in Ukraine can be ended at any moment.

This decision depends on Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.
