Canada has announced that it has purchased for Ukraine an advanced NASAMS anti-aircraft missile system for $406 million, which is designed to combat missiles, aircraft and other air targets at low and medium altitudes.

As reported by the CBS TV channel, Canada's Minister of Defense Anita Anand said that there will be no delays in the transfer of the air defense system to Ukraine.

According to the head of Canada's military department, the supply of weapons necessary for the defense of the sky over Ukraine "will take place as soon as possible."

She added that we are not talking about years, but the coming months.

Canada purchased the NASAMS system along with the munitions.

Anand emphasized that a key factor in the procurement was the close partnership with the United States.

The Minister of Defense of Canada also noted that the country's government focuses on the purchase of equipment for the Canadian military, but at the same time tries to support Ukraine.

We will remind you that NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg believes that it is necessary to provide Ukraine with the weapons it needs for victory, and the risk of Russia using nuclear weapons is low.
