Thiruvananthapuram:

The Kerala government has issued orders making face masks mandatory for people in all public places, workplaces and gatherings.

In the order issued by the state government on January 12, it has also been directed to take effective measures to ensure social distancing to prevent the spread of Kovid-19 in the state.

Apart from this, the government has also directed shops, theaters and organizers of various events to make arrangements for washing hands and using sanitizers to ensure the safety of people from possible virus attack.

Significantly, this order has been issued amid concerns about a possible increase in COVID-19 cases across the country.

This order will remain in force in all parts of the state for a period of 30 days from January 12, 2023.
