The Air Force has responded to rumors that a missile that fell on the Yashayin building in Dnieper was shot down by the air defense of Ukraine.

According to information reported by APA with reference to the Ukrainian press, the commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Mykola Oleshchuk, said that there is no doubt that Russia hit the multi-storey residential building with an X-22 missile.

The general noted that the Armed Forces of Ukraine do not have equipment capable of shooting such missiles.

"On January 14, 2023, five X-22 cruise missiles were fired into the territory of Ukraine from five Tu-22 long-range bombers of the Russian Aerospace Forces.

The shots were fired from the Kursk region and the Sea of Azov.

One of the X-22 missiles fired from the Kursk region hit a high-rise building in the city of Dnipro.

Radar devices detected the approximate launch location, altitude and flight speed of the missile.

There is no doubt that it was an X-22 missile," the general said.
