Li Anni said after her memorial service that when President Chiang Ching-kuo passed away suddenly and his father succeeded him in accordance with the Constitution, no one thought that his presidency would last for a long time.

However, history has proved that former President Lee relied on faith and foresight, crawled forward through persistence and compromise, and finally completed the democratization and localization of the Republic of China, and also won the reputation of "Mr. Democracy".

The wisdom of former President Lee is worthy of deep consideration by today's political workers, leading Taiwan to walk a path of its own.

Li Anni mentioned that the Lee Teng-hui Foundation currently has three core goals, namely "inheriting the philosophy of former President Lee and the idea of democratization", "promoting the establishment of the Lee Teng-hui Memorial Library" and "becoming an important bridge to deepen the friendly relationship between Taiwan and Japan".

Therefore, after she took over as the chairman, the Lee Teng-hui Foundation organized academic forums, commemorative concerts and other activities to review the life and many contributions of former President Lee through different forms; in addition, it also continued to negotiate with National Taiwan University, hoping to promote the Lee Teng-hui Memorial Library birth.

Li Anni pointed out that because of the visit of members of the Japanese Diet, the foundation also tried its best to continue the friendship between the two countries, and was even invited to participate in the state funeral of former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

The foundation will continue to work hard for these three core goals in the future, and we also look forward to the continued support of the general public; DPP legislator Guo Guowen said that the relationship between Taiwan and Japan is a very important political legacy of former President Lee, and it should be more maintained and carried forward.

In addition, the foundation often received inquiries from the public, whether they could go to Wuzhishan to pay tribute to former President Li.

Li Anni said that she can understand the particularity and control needs of the Special Order District, and is very grateful to the colleagues of the Wuzhishan National Army for their assistance. But perhaps this year, the 100th birthday, the Ministry of National Defense can adapt to public opinion and plan the most appropriate method and date. Let the general public also go to commemorate and pay homage.
