[Reporter Shi Xiaoguang/Taipei Report] KMT chairman Zhu Lilun and his speech system previously announced that the nomination procedures related to the 2024 general election will not be processed until the end of the Nantou County Legislative Committee by-election in March. At the organizing meeting, the draft was started. It is reported that the nomination of legislators will follow the usual practice, focusing on coordination first. If there is a challenger for the incumbent legislators, coordination will be carried out. If the coordination fails, the primary election will be held.

Party insiders pointed out that the planning of the nomination operation this time was earlier than in the past. The main reason is that the local government reflected that nominations in the past were too slow and there was not enough time for integration. Therefore, the organizing committee has already started to develop a draft nomination method.

As usual, except where coordination or even primary elections are required, as long as there are incumbent legislators and no competitors, the Kuomintang will give priority to nominations, and disputed constituencies will be released later.

At present, some constituencies in the blue camp may be determined to hold primary elections. For example, Taipei City Councilors Xu Qiaoxin and Xu Hongting have previously expressed their intention to challenge the senior KMT legislators Fei Hongtai and Lai Shibao. Therefore, if coordination fails, they will enter the primary election process.
