Sharad Yadav will be cremated this afternoon.
New Delhi:
Today, the mortal remains of senior socialist leader and former Union Minister Sharad Yadav
are being taken from Delhi to Bhopal by
a special aircraft .
From there, he will be taken by road to his ancestral residence village Aankhmau in district Narmadapuram (earlier Hoshangabad).
Sharad Yadav's last rites will be performed after 1.30 pm.
Sharad Yadav's nephew Shailesh Yadav said that his last rites would be performed at Aankhmau village and Sharad Yadav's son Shantanu Bundela would light the funeral pyre.
Interested in politics since student life
Sharad Yadav was born on 1 July 1947
in Akhmau village of Hoshangabad district of Madhya Pradesh.
Although he was born in Madhya Pradesh, but as a politician he was more associated with the politics of Bihar.
He had a special interest in politics since his student life.
Sharad Yadav, who obtained an engineering degree from Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh, actively participated in many movements after being influenced by the ideas of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia.
He was also associated with the JP movement.
Relation with Madhepura seat of Bihar
He was elected to the
Lok Sabha in the year 1974 .
Sharad, who was twice elected MP from Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh, also represented Madhepura seat in Bihar four times in Parliament.
He has also been elected to the Lok Sabha once from Badaun in UP.
He was also a member of the Upper House i.e. Rajya Sabha three times.
In the Union Cabinet, Sharad Babu took charge of the Ministry of Labour, Civil Aviation, Textiles, Food and Consumer Affairs.
Lok Dal, Janata Dal, Janata Dal stay in United
He was associated with parties like
Lok Dal, Janata Dal, Janata Dal United .
He has also handled the responsibility of the coordinator of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
Sharad Yadav's contribution is considered in making Nitish Kumar and Lalu Yadav the Chief Minister of Bihar.
Formed his party Loktantrik Janata Dal in the year 2018, but after two years it merged with Lalu Yadav's Rashtriya Janata Dal.
