According to the observations of military intelligence of Ukraine, the Russian Federation is preparing for a long-term

war.

This was reported by the press service of the GUR.

In particular, Vladimir Putin's measures to reorganize the Russian economy and military-industrial complex point to the preparation of the country's transition to martial law, according to Ukrainian intelligence.

Such measures are aimed at strengthening the potential of the Russian Armed Forces and creating conditions for conducting operations planned at the very beginning of the war, but unsuccessfully implemented by the Russian military.

The GUR points out that Russia's efforts to attract all military resources to continue the war against Ukraine, as well as the recent appointment of the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov as the new commander of the Russian forces, indicate not only the Kremlin's military failures, but also Moscow's preparation for the continuation of a large-scale, long-term war .

It will be recalled that the Russian army wants to take an operational pause at the front in order to prepare reserves for a new operation.

For this purpose, the occupiers are trying to draw the Armed Forces into tight battles,

as in Bakhmut.

At a press conference on December 22, Vladimir Putin

 suddenly announced that he

did not want to "spin the flywheel of a military conflict."

At the same time, the head of the Kremlin announced his readiness to sit down at the negotiating table and accused Ukraine of unwillingness to negotiate.

The Russian dictator also noted that the

intensification of hostilities in Ukraine "leads to unjustified losses."

Analysts at the American Institute for the Study of War concluded that Putin is preparing the Russians for a

protracted, exhausting war

 in Ukraine.
