Protest in Montana due to the intention of a German investor to build the country's first floating photovoltaic power plant on the waters of the Ogosta Dam.

According to initial data, the installation will occupy about half of the area of the dam, reports NOVA.

In return, the private company has pledged to finance any necessary repairs, such as the dam wall, which has been rumored for years to be in need of urgent repair and unsafe.

The Minister of Economy answered Cornelia Ninova about the "Ogosta" dam

However, residents of Montana have concerns about the transparency of the project.

They blocked the international road to and from "Danube Bridge" 2.

"The concern of all anglers is that after that there will be nowhere to fish.

No one asked the more than 10,000 fishermen who visit the reservoir.

No one came to explain and tell them what was next.

As far as we know, we are talking about an area of over 10,000 decares", explained Valeri Spasov from the association "Ribar".

The Ministry of Economy explained that only investment interest in the "Ogosta" dam has been declared.

Whether such a project will be launched is yet to be decided by the institutions after studying all aspects.
