According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), from today till January 17, cold wave in North Rajasthan, 14-15 in Karnataka, 15-17 in Himachal Pradesh, 16-18 in Punjab, Haryana and Union Territory of Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh There is a forecast of cold wave on 17-18.

Dense fog is expected in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar in the morning and night for the next four days.

There will be severe cold in Bihar for the next four days.

If it will be cold in Uttarakhand till today and tomorrow, people of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh may have to face cold from 15 to 17. 

Snowfall in Kashmir Valley on Friday

Flights were canceled in the Kashmir Valley on Friday due to snowfall, officials said, adding that flights operated in the morning but had to be suspended due to low visibility and snowfall.

"Due to incessant snowfall and low visibility, all flight operations at Srinagar airport have been suspended on Friday," a Srinagar airport official said, adding that the passengers of the canceled flights were concerned. will be accommodated in the next available flight by the airline for which they will not have to pay anything extra.

Srinagar-Jammu National Highway closed

Fresh snowfall started in the morning and continued till late night.

Where there was moderate to heavy snowfall in the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir, there was light to moderate snowfall in the plains.

Officials said that due to inclement weather, the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway, the only all-weather road connecting the valley with the rest of the country, has been closed for traffic.

He said traffic on the highway has been closed due to landslides and slippery road conditions in Meher area.

Officials said that the work of clearing the roads is going on, but due to continuous snowfall and rains, it is facing difficulty.

Haryana and Punjab Many parts of Haryana and Punjab received light rain on Friday and the minimum temperature remained close to normal limits.

The Meteorological Department gave this information.

Chandigarh, the common capital of the two states, recorded a minimum temperature of 9.2 degrees Celsius.

According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature in Haryana's Narnaul was 9.5 degree Celsius, Karnal 10.6 degree Celsius, Rohtak 11.2 degree Celsius and Ambala 11.3 degree Celsius.

In Punjab, the minimum temperature was recorded at 8.9 degree Celsius in Patiala, 9.5 degree Celsius in Ludhiana, 10 degree Celsius in Faridkot and 10.2 degree Celsius in Pathankot and Mohali.
