Russian President

Vladimir Putin

launched a war against Ukraine as part of implementing plans for a major war to restore the USSR.

This opinion was expressed by publicist and political scientist

Mykhailo Sheitelman

in an exclusive interview with TSN.ua.

"I believe that

in any case he was going to start not only this war, but also a war for the restoration of the Soviet Union

. They have a plan for the restoration of the USSR, it has been active for a long time. I do not know when it was written - after the Crimea or before. This is roughly the framework of the existence of this plan," Sheitelman said.

The political scientist explained how the Kremlin was going to implement its plans:

"Somewhere they were going to take by military force, as they captured parts of Georgia, for example. Somewhere they were going to force the country to join this community in hybrid ways, as with Armenia, for example, by letting it specifically lose the war to Azerbaijan. The war in which Russia initially involved it in 80s, and then let it lose. It was clear with Ukraine that they would have to fight, they were going to do it. This is a strategic issue."

It will be recalled that the Russian political scientist Andriy Piontkovsky said that the elites of the Russian Federation are already pissed off at the results of the war against Ukraine, and they are preparing for a civil war in Russia for the redistribution of property with the help of private armies.

According to the results of a survey by the Atlantic Council think tank, 46% of foreign policy experts expressed the opinion that by 2033 Russia may become a state that did not happen, or simply disintegrate.
