The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Albania, Olta Jachka, said that her country will increase its diplomatic presence in Ukraine by opening an embassy in Kyiv.

She wrote about it on Twitter.

The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Albania and Ukraine belong to the family of free and democratic states, which together have a future in the Euro-Atlantic family.

"On the occasion of this 30th anniversary, I am happy to announce that Albania will increase the level of its diplomatic presence in Kyiv by opening its embassy in Ukraine," Dzachka emphasized.

In particular, the minister added that today Albanians are proud to stand on the side of Ukraine as true friends on the right side of history.

"Ukraine's heroic resistance is a struggle for freedom and a refusal to return to the tyranny from which we emerged many years ago. That is why Albania will support Ukraine and its people to the best of its ability until it defeats Russia's illegal war of aggression," said the diplomat and expressed her hope for close cooperation with her Ukrainian colleague Dmytro Kuleba.

We will remind that Albania supported Ukraine in the fight against Russia, which unleashed a large-scale war.

Moreover, Albania's representative in the UN Security Council, Ferit Hoxha, repeatedly criticized Russia for its actions and propaganda at meetings.

Thus, in October 2022, he declared that he was tired of the meetings convened by the Russian delegation regarding "biological laboratories" and "war mosquitoes" in Ukraine.
