Hockey World Cup:
India has started its campaign in the Men's Hockey World Cup 2023 with a win.
In their first match (India vs Spain) played on Friday at Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium in Rourkela, the Indian hockey team defeated Spain 2-0 unilaterally.
Amit Rohidas (12') and Hardik Singh (26') scored for the hosts.
Amit Rohidas of Odisha was declared player of the match.
First game, first win.

India will now face England in their next match on Sunday.
The Harmanpreet Singh-led team is eyeing its first World Cup trophy after 48 years.
Team India had finished sixth in the last season in 2018.
Apart from this, the Indian team won the silver medal in the Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham.
