With yesterday's decision of the National Assembly to renegotiate the Plan for Recovery and Sustainability (RPU) in the "Energy" part, the deputies obliged not only the official government, but also the European Commission.

They set a deadline for the EC until March 31 to renegotiate the terms of the PVA, which is a precedent.

This was stated by acting Prime Minister Galab Donev

during the inspection of the construction of a children's hospital.

Donev added that with this decision of the National Assembly, the other 26 member states of the Community are practically obliged to take a stance, as any change to the PVA must be approved and ratified by the relevant national parliament in the EU.

Already next week, Minister Pekanov will start talks with the EC and with the individual structures about what procedure to follow.

But this is a precedent - no other country has raised the question of revising its national plan, the caretaker prime minister pointed out, adding that only the EC assessment will last about two months.

in this decision of the people's representatives, there are risks with the set deadlines, and he did not rule out the possibility of the National Assembly setting traps.

We are working on renegotiating some of the projects and commitments that have been approved by the EC and other member states.

It is important, however, not to delay the launch of the other projects from PVU, because they are in the field of health care, social policy, e-government.

These projects must continue to be implemented, Prime Minister Donev emphasized.
