A 21-year-old British man was fined for throwing an egg at King Charles III

Charles III, full name Charles Philip Arthur George Mountbatten-Windsor, is king and statesman during his visit to Luton on December 6, 2022, DPA reported.

The agency notes that the motives of the perpetrator of this act were that the monarch's visit to a "poor area" was a manifestation of "bad taste".

At Westminster Magistrates' Court, the defendant, Harry May, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct.

King Charles III

Charles III, full name Charles Philip Arthur George Mountbatten-Windsor, is a king and statesman who was in Luton in December to visit the newly built Sikh temple named after Guru Nanak (the founder of Sikhism - note ed.).

He also visited the local town hall.

May threw the egg in the king's direction as a large group of people gathered to congratulate him, the court heard.

In court, however, the defendant stated that he did not aim the egg at the monarch and did not intend to hit him.

The egg flew past King Charles III

Charles III, full name Charles Philip Arthur George Mountbatten-Windsor, was king and statesman and fell to earth not far from the monarch.

Prosecutor Jason Seattle said police who arrested May found a soup can in his jacket containing a second egg, which he also intended to throw.

When police questioned May, he said he "did it because he believed the king's visit to a town like Luton - a poor area - was in bad taste and he wanted to draw attention to it", the prosecutor said.

When a police officer later asked May what he had thrown, he replied, "an egg."

Before the court, May's lawyer said that he "deeply regrets" his actions, adds DPA, quoted by BTA.
