The Kremlin found itself in a desperate situation due to a series of military failures in Ukraine, against the background of which the level of influence of the owner of the "Wagner Group" Evgeny Prigozhin is increasing.

The growing influence of Prigozhin shows that the Russians are increasingly resorting to more radical methods of using force in Ukraine.

CNN writes about it.

Starting from mid-autumn, the owner of the Russian PVK Wagner

Yevgeny Prigozhin

is becoming more and more visible in the Russian information space.

If earlier he denied his connection with the mercenaries and even the existence of such a company, now he calls himself its founder and owner, actively criticizes the Russian military command and even admits that things are not going well for the Russians in Ukraine.

According to the material, the war was a prime time for Prigozhin.

He wants to get more political points for himself - and he succeeds in this at least because, unlike the official military command of Russia, Prigozhin is not afraid to appear almost on the front line with his mercenaries.

"In the eyes of Russians, he is gradually becoming someone who tells the truth," the journalists write.

And why does the Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu often become the object of his attack?

The publication cites the fact that at one time Prigozhin's companies won large tenders for servicing the Russian army, and then lost them.

Another matter is to what extent Prigozhin will be allowed to increase his influence and whether he will be able to slow it down in time.

It will be recalled that the former employee of the British military intelligence, Philip Ingram, suggests that the likely successor of Vladimir Putin will be the businessman

 Yevgeny Prigozhin.

At the end of December 2022, the head of the GUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Budanov, said that

Surovikin had joined Prigozhin

to oppose the head of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Sergei Shoigu.

That is why the "Wagner" units so fanatically tried to capture Bakhmut.

According to Russian oppositionist Andriy Piontkovsky,

the private armies of Prigozhin, Kadyrov and Shoigu

are preparing for a civil war in the Russian Federation over the redistribution of property.
