Sharad Yadav contested the Lok Sabha elections in 2019 on RJD ticket.

Veteran socialist leader and former Union Minister Sharad Yadav passed away on Thursday at the age of 75.

Born in Madhya Pradesh, but made his political workplace, the leaders of Bihar have mourned his death.

From Sharad Yadav's political ally RJD President Lalu Yadav and Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav to his political opponent, BJP's Rajya Sabha MP Sushil Modi has also paid tribute by remembering him.

Lalu Prasad Yadav, who is recuperating in Singapore, remembered him by releasing a video from the hospital.

He said, 'I am very disturbed after hearing the news of the death of elder brother Sharad Yadav.

I am very sad and very hurt.

Sharad Yadav, Mulayam Singh Yadav, Nitish Kumar, I along with other leaders have been doing politics in the company of people's leader Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia and Karpoori Thakur.

Today I was deeply saddened by his sudden departure.

He was a great socialist leader, candid.

I used to fight with him sometimes.

There would have been differences, but no differences.

He is no longer with us.

May God give eternal peace to his soul.

My condolences to the bereaved families.

Just got the sad news of Sharadbhai's passing in Singapore at night.

Merged his party with RJD


Sharad Yadav formed his party after resigning from JDU in the year 2016 and formed a new party.

After this he merged this party with Rashtriya Janata Dal.

His daughter Subhashini is in Congress.

Sharad Yadav was MP from Madhepura seat of Bihar four times.

He had also been a minister at the Center along with the President of Janata Dal United (JDU).

Had rebelled against JDU in 2017


Sharad Yadav was the leader of Janata Dal United (JDU) for a long time.

Yadav is said to have been apprehensive about the JDU's decision to break ties with the BJP in 2013.

Yadav rebelled against Nitish Kumar's decision to rejoin the BJP four years later in 2017, which resulted in his disqualification from the Rajya Sabha.

It is noteworthy that Sharad Yadav contested the 2019 Lok Sabha elections on an RJD ticket from Madhepura in Bihar.

He had won the election from this seat four times.
