In the Verkhovna Rada on Thursday, January 12, the speaker of the Sejm of Latvia, Edwards Smiltens, spoke.

He addressed the people's deputies in Ukrainian. 

People's deputies Yaroslav Zheleznyak and Oleksiy Honcharenko reported this in Telegram.

Edwards Smiltens addressed the People's Deputies in Ukrainian.

Zheleznyak published several theses from his speech: 

• "We propose to hold a tribunal against officials of the Russian Federation in Riga." 

• "Next to the flags of European countries, the flag of Ukraine will fly." 

The speaker of the Diet of Latvia concluded his speech with the words: "Ukraine above all."

People's deputy Goncharenko published a part of the Latvian politician's speech. 

We will remind, on August 11, the Seimas approved a statement that Russia's violence, which is aimed at the civilian population and is carried out to achieve political goals, is terrorism, and Russia itself is a state that supports terrorism.

Latvia calls on "other like-minded countries" to express the same opinion, as well as to immediately suspend the issuance of tourist and entry visas to citizens of the Russian Federation and Belarus.

Also, Latvia can transfer a new batch of Stinger anti-aircraft missile systems to Ukraine.

Such a decision may be announced at the next meeting of "Ramstein".
