BENEFICIARIES of the National Social Development Fund (TASAF) in Mtwara region have requested an increase in the amount of money they receive to improve their capital.

Martha Leonard, a resident of Office Kuu Street, Chikongola Ward, Mtwara Mikindani Municipality, said that she bought a cart with the aid money that helps her to simplify her work of collecting garbage in various areas of the municipality.

"We advise TASAF to give us more money so that I can buy equipment that will facilitate my work of sweeping the garbage with a wheelbarrow," said Martha

Sauda Ally, a resident of the ward who is also a corn trader, has said that he is developing his business through the aid funds, but he has emphasized the issue of adding funds so that they can further improve their capital in order to develop their young people academically.

Mwanahami Abdallah, a resident of Magomeni Ward in the municipality, who started benefiting in 2014 by being empowered with 20,000 shillings without conditions, then 36,000, but until today he only gets 10,000 shillings for a Primary School student.

"I thank TASAF for having the spirit to continue helping us, we fail to do big projects considering the money that we are given, I teach, I nurse, I do everything but 10,000 shillings which takes time to get, we need to have big things but we fail" said Abdallah.

The director of coordination from TASAF, Haika Shayo advised the beneficiaries of TASAF funds to use the funds they get according to the intended goals and to follow the instructions given to them so that they can reach big commercial steps.

He congratulated the beneficiaries who have achieved success through the Program as they have done justice to the little money they receive from TASAF and have invested the subsidy.

The Chairman of Chama cha Mapinduzi (CCM) Mtwara Urban District, Salumu Mahida has said that the goal of TASAF is to see that low-income citizens benefit from the program in terms of income, ability but also to develop themselves including improving their homes and educating their children.

The arrival of TASAF in the Municipality is to check the implementation of the third phase, the second period of the Program to Save Poor Households, especially the production subsidy where 438 households have benefited from the Program where more than 107 million shillings.
