In Ukraine, 110 billion hryvnias are planned to be spent this year on the reconstruction of housing destroyed by Russian aggression.

According to Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, the funds will be obtained from confiscated Russian assets, as well as thanks to contributions from partners and fundraising on the "UNITED24" fundraising platform, which launched the "Ukraine Reconstruction" project.

Within the framework of this project, 18 high-rise buildings in the Kyiv region are being rebuilt.

This is reported in the story of

.

At the beginning of March 2022, a high-rise building on Kyivska Street in Irpen was at the epicenter of hostilities.

When the invaders were driven away, the local residents returned home and were horrified by what they saw.

In order to return the light, water and heating to the apartments, the group has been working since the spring.

The area was cleared of debris, sewer pipes, water supply and electrical wiring were replaced.

Smoky entrances and corridors were scraped from soot.

They begged for material on the burnt roof and threw themselves down in a group to pay for the work.

Now there is also a lot of work here - the builders are finishing fixing the corrugated board on the roof.

The head of the high-rise condominium, in which a third of the residents live permanently, breathes a sigh of relief - at least there will be no more water flowing down the walls.

A delegation of high-ranking officials, including the head of the region, the minister of infrastructure, the minister of digital transformation and the prime minister, visited the house, which is being saved by a group of its residents.

As a group, they look at how much the residents have done themselves, understand that there is still a lot of work, and promise help.

According to Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, government officials have already decided where to get 110 billion hryvnias for housing reconstruction this year.

The first is from confiscated Russian assets, from the budget and at the expense of patrons.

And also - from the funds of "UNITED24".

Initially, within the framework of the "Ukraine Reconstruction" project, 18 apartment buildings in Irpen, Borodyanka, Gostomel, in the villages of Buzove and Mila will be restored.

The authorities plan that each house will have its own "ambassador".

"It will be such a trend, when a specific person is responsible for a specific house.

Targeted fees are the basis of "UNITED24", - explains the head of the Ministry of Statistics Mykhailo Fedorov.

Andriy Shevchenko became one of these "ambassadors" in Irpen.

He took over the local stadium.

A temporary artificial covering covered the holes from three dozen shells.

Shevchenko has already found the funds to make this stadium at the proper level.

According to him, his former football club "Milan", the Italian manufacturer of fashionable clothes and accessories, Armani, joined this case.

In addition to Andriy Shevchenko, boxer Oleksandr Usyk and the American rock band Imagine Dragons became ambassadors of recovery in Irpen.

Not all residential complexes have a star guardian, but funds are collected on the "UNITED24" platform for everyone.

Entrances to the renovated housing are planned already this year.

We will remind you that the "Recovery Army" involved more than 3,000 unemployed people in the reconstruction of the country.
