A protest of over 3,000 people is taking place in front of the parliament building under the title "To protect the country's energy security".

Its organizers are the trade union organizations in our country.

The dissatisfaction is related to the commitment to reduce carbon emissions compared to their levels in 2019.

The protesters want the National Assembly to oblige the Council of Ministers to start negotiations with the European Commission to cancel this commitment.

They are also demanding that parliament guarantee the operation of coal plants until at least 2038. They are worried that they may be out of work.

If they are not heard, they will demand their rights.

They also insist on meetings with the deputies.

They insist on a renegotiation of the "Energy" chapter in the Recovery Plan and that the "Maritsa Iztok" complex be smoothly decommissioned by 2038. These are basic capacities, without them we will return to the time when there was a current regime, the trade unionists also say.

The protesters have raised placards "I don't want in the dark", there is a black grave cross on which is written "Mini Maritsa Iztok", on the ground there is a poster: "Bulgaria cannot close the coal plants now! Remove this 40 percent from the NPU!", "Think for Bulgaria" etc.
