Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will visit Belarus for the second time in the last month.

The visit is scheduled for January 19. 

This was announced on Thursday, January 12, at a briefing by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Maria Zakharova.

According to Zakharova, Lavrov is on his way to Minsk to meet with representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus.

She did not give more details.

It should be noted that in

the Russian diplomat was last in Minsk on December 19, when the head of the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin, was also visiting. 

We will remind that on December 19, the Russian president-dictator Putin visited Minsk for the first time since 2019.

He was accompanied by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, as well as Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

Secretary of the National Security Council Oleksiy Danilov commented on Putin's visit to Belarus.

He emphasized that Ukraine is ready for the scenario of direct intervention of Belarus in the war.
