The Ambassador of Ukraine to Turkey, Vasyl Bodnar, said that the "peace summit" proposed by President Volodymyr Zelensky, mediated by UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, is scheduled for February 24.

It should take place at the headquarters of the United Nations in New York.

This was reported by the Turkish publication Anadolu with reference to the comment of the Ukrainian diplomat.

Vasyl Bodnar reminded the journalist of the agency that President Volodymyr Zelensky presented a 10-point peace formula at the G20 summit, which provides for the complete withdrawal of Russian troops from the territory of Ukraine, the restoration of the 1991 borders, the cessation of hostilities, the payment of reparations by Russia for the damage caused to Ukraine, the creation of a special tribunal for war criminals of the Russian Federation and other points.

"This is a war for liberation and independence. We need to liberate our lands, restore our territorial integrity and establish sovereign rights on our sovereign lands. This is the main element of the entire war," he said in a comment to a Turkish publication.

The Ukrainian diplomat expressed his gratitude to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, who declared Ankara's support for the peace plan and readiness to participate in its implementation.

It will be recalled that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey announced that they support the "peace formula" proposed by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi in November 2022.
