Military expert Oleg Zhdanov told in which direction the new offensive of Russia may take place, about the possibility of which Western media write.

He said this in an interview with TSN.ua.

Kharkiv direction

Zhdanov explained that in order to advance on Kharkiv, the Russians need to create a strike group of 40,000 or more people in the Belgorod region.

"They have personnel. They transport them from one end of Russia to the other. The point is what they should ride on: trucks or tanks. If on tanks, then on which ones - Soviet T-72, T-80 "This will be a very big difference from the group that invaded Ukraine in February 2022," the expert says.

Zaporozhye direction

Zhdanov noted that, according to information from Western intelligence, they say that the Russian Federation is intensively digging trenches in the Zaporozhye direction, building a defense line, but not creating a strike direction.

"They are accumulating reserves, personnel for the transition to a dead-end defense. They are very afraid of our counteroffensive there," the military expert emphasized.

Zhdanov believes that the Donetsk direction is the most promising for the Russian Federation.

"First of all, this is a political task - the capture of the entire Donetsk region. An economic task is imposed here - gas and lithium deposits. And there they still have an offensive pace. Overturning the reserve and increasing the offensive pace is most likely in the Donetsk direction," he concluded.

The new offensive of the Russian Federation: what is known

Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi warned that the occupiers may drop everything they have to attempt a new offensive.

According to military expert Oleksandr Musiyenko, the Russian Federation is currently forming reserves in order to carry out an offensive in certain directions sometime in early spring.

According to Musienko, Russia can prepare a simultaneous offensive in several directions.

In particular, from the east and north of Ukraine.

The ex-commander of the "Azov" regiment, Maxim Zhorin, warned that in 2023, the Russians may go on a new offensive and are considering three scenarios for this.

Military expert Pavlo Narozhny noted that the Russians may attack the Sumy region.

It will be very convenient for them to do it from Kursk.

The KMDA assured that Kyiv is ready for a possible blockade by occupation troops
