From January 1, Ukraine imports small amounts of electricity from European countries.

The Ministry of Energy expects that the supply will increase.

This was reported by the Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Galushchenko for the Interfax-Ukraine news agency.

According to him, this became possible thanks to the recently adopted decision of the government on guarantees of energy supply to consumers of expensive imported electricity.

"What's more, we've made it possible for businesses to buy, and that will have a corresponding impact on supply and their potential supply constraint," he said.

Regarding the volumes of supply, Galushchenko emphasized that they will depend on the situation with repairs and the entry into operation of the energy system of the blocks in the coming days.

He added that many traders deal with the issue of imports today.

This is not only the

state "EKU", but also the private "ERV", the "DTEK" group.

Consumption limits have been set for all regions.

They operate around the clock - from 00:00 to 24:00.

As a reminder, due to worsening weather conditions, DTEK announced limits
