The GDBOP carried out procedural and investigative actions on an investigation against a criminal group that recruited Bulgarians to beg in the Kingdom of Sweden through coercion, the Ministry of the Interior announced.

A 57-year-old woman was detained for 24 hours. 

The action took place on January 10 in the village of Glava, municipality of Cherven Bryag, and is part of an international specialized police operation.

An investigation has been initiated in the case at the district prosecutor's office in Pleven, after receiving operational information.

The group consists of six people, each of whom performs strictly defined tasks.

The main participants are located in the territory of the Kingdom of Sweden

, added the Ministry of the Interior. 

A Swedish town collects money from beggars

An address in the village of Glava was searched, six mobile phones, four SIM cards, lists of reported amounts of money, notebooks containing data on reported amounts of money from victims of trafficking, as well as other documents related to criminal activity were found and seized.

European arrest warrants for the rest of the group are pending.

Actions continue in cooperation with the Swedish authorities, the police said.
