The former commander of the US forces in Europe, retired general Ben Godges, previously said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will create conditions for the operation to liberate

Crimea

by February 2023 , and already in the summer of this year they will succeed in de-occupying the peninsula.

In an interview with "24 Kanal", he told what weapons Ukraine needs to liberate the peninsula from the invaders.

"We are talking about long-range precision weapons and the possibility of isolating Crimea. There are essentially only two roads there - the Kerch bridge and the so-called land bridge that goes through Mariupol and Melitopol. If Ukraine cuts these two supply routes for Russian forces, it will destroy logistics, and block Sevastopol for the Russian Black Sea Fleet - then all the conditions will be there to liberate Crimea.

That is, when you have ATACMS, Gray Eagle, Reaper and other long-range precision systems,

as well as systems to protect civilians and infrastructure from Russian missile attacks. And of course when you will have enough armored vehicles to complete ground operations," he said.

Deoccupation of Crimea

Ben Godges noted that the Defense Forces of Ukraine advancing in the south and east can isolate Crimea and redeploy HIMARS and other high-precision, long-range weapons to deliver devastating blows to the logistics system of the Russian Armed Forces.

In his opinion, the

counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine should isolate the temporarily occupied Crimea

and deprive the Russian Armed Forces of supplies that are currently underway through the Crimean Bridge.

The head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov believes that the

return of Crimea will take place by military means in 2023.

Military expert Pavlo Narozhny says that in order to

liberate the occupied Crimea, it is necessary to destroy

Russian logistics, airfields and the Black Sea Fleet.

And when their resources are exhausted, you can attack.
