In the coming years, Russia will either disintegrate or turn into an unsustainable state, according to almost half of the surveyed foreign policy experts.

This is evidenced by the results of a survey by the NATO Atlantic Council analytical center.

Thus, within the scope of the survey, 167 experts expressed their assessments of what the world will be like in 10 years.

Almost half

(46%) of experts believe that by 2033, Russia may become a failed state,

unable to maintain its existence as a viable political and economic unit.

Or the Russian Federation

will simply fall apart.

At the same time, 21% of the surveyed experts think that Russia is the most likely country to become an unsustainable state within 10 years.

According to the survey, 40% of experts

predict Russia's internal disintegration

by 2033.

Among the reasons are revolution, civil war, political disintegration or other reasons.

In particular, Europeans give the most pessimistic forecasts regarding the collapse of the Russian Federation: 49% of experts predict this option.

As for specialists from the USA, 36% of respondents predict this option.

In addition, 14% of respondents believe that Russia

may use nuclear weapons

within the next 10 years .

Among prognosticators of the country's disintegration or transformation into a state, which did not happen, 22% believe that one of the reasons for this will be the use of nuclear weapons.

At the same time, 10% of those who predict the collapse of Russia think that, of all currently autocratic countries, it is most likely to

become democratic

by the end of this period.

Peter Engelke, deputy head of the Atlantic Council and one of the curators of the study, commented on the results of this survey.

In a Financial Times comment, he said that one of the most important reasons for Russia's future collapse was the

war against Ukraine

.

Engelke sees a high probability that the war "will boomerang not only on the leadership [of Russia], but also on the country in general."

We will remind you that the Russian elites are preparing for a civil war within their country - for a huge redistribution of property.

This opinion was expressed by the Russian opposition leader Andriy Piontkovskyi.

According to his predictions, it will be a war between groups of gangsters who will fight for trillions of pieces of property.

According to Viktor Yagun, SBU Reserve Major General, due to a number of problems, Russia is beginning to "fall apart" from within.

This can lead to fatal consequences for the aggressor country, but also positively affect the future victory of Ukraine.

At the same time, as noted by the former head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Volodymyr Ogryzko, Western countries fear the disintegration of Russia in the event of its defeat in the war against Ukraine.

In particular, due to the uncertainty in whose hands the state's nuclear weapons will end up.
