The passengers of the Russian plane were safely evacuated by the Indian Air Force.

Jamnagar:

The Indian Air Force activated the security protocol at Jamnagar airport as soon as the agencies got information about the bomb in the Russian Azure Air plane going to Goa.

Officials said that after the aircraft was moved to a different location at the military airport, the Indian Air Force officials instructed the ground staff and Garuda Special Forces personnel to help in the safe evacuation of the passengers.

This military airport is mainly responsible for the security of the industrial center,

The Indian Air Force had very little time to prepare as they had only 50 minutes of response time to prepare between the time the aircraft was reported and its landing.

All's well that ends well!

He said that after the plane landed safely in the isolation bay, the security personnel evacuated 236 passengers safely.

Indian Air Force officers under the leadership of Air Commodore Anand Sondhi immediately extended hospitality to the passengers to make them feel comfortable.

Soon after, the bomb squad of the National Security Guard (ASG) was brought in by a special IAF aircraft to scan the Azur Air aircraft and personal belongings of the passengers before they took off for their final destination, Dabolim Airport in Goa.

Officials said such emergencies are usually handled at airports run by the Union Civil Aviation Ministry.

However, this time there was not much time to allow the aircraft to go to Mumbai, Goa or Ahmedabad and hence Jamnagar was chosen to ensure the safety of the passengers.

A Moscow-Goa chartered flight had to make an emergency landing in Gujarat's Jamnagar on Monday following a bomb threat.

The flight reached its destination Dabolim Airport on Tuesday afternoon.

The Russian Embassy issued a statement saying that it was alerted by the Indian authorities about the alleged bomb on the Azur Air flight from Moscow to Goa.

In its statement, the Russian Embassy said, "Indian authorities alerted the Embassy about a possible bomb threat on an Azur Air flight from Moscow to Goa. The aircraft made an emergency landing at Jamnagar Indian Air Force Base. All safe." Officials are inspecting the aircraft."
