Today, the main leaders of the war were changed in Russia.

In particular, Russian Defense Minister Serhii Shoigu appointed Valery Gerasimov, chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, as the commander of the Joint Group of Forces in Ukraine.

Serhiy Surovikin, who held this position before Gerasimov, was appointed his deputy.

Surovikin remained in office for only three months.

Ukrainian military expert, former spokesman of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Vladyslav Seleznyov

, who is well-versed in the military vertical, spoke in a comment for

TSN.ua

about how this could affect the situation in our country.

"I think this is due to the fact that

Putin is ready to raise the stakes

," says Vladyslav Seleznyov. "Most likely, he will attract additional reserves to implement the plan to capture the Luhansk and Donetsk regions. He will try to gain a foothold in the south in order to maintenance of the corridor connecting occupied Donetsk with occupied Crimea".

Directly about the personnel decisions, Seleznev says the following: "These personnel decisions are in fact a strengthening of the leadership, which will continue to manage the so-called operation. They act in such a way as to appoint an official who has the highest authority. Gerasimov, as the commander of the Joint Group of Forces , still remains the chief of the General Staff. This

means that all the constituent structures of the armed forces of the Russian Federation are subordinate to him

.

Now Gerasimov will be able not only to manage the operation, but also to determine what is necessary for the effective performance of the tasks set by Putin and Shoigu.

This is an increase in the status of the commander.

It is possible that additional mobilization will be carried out.

They say about half a million people.

Perhaps it will be an intensification of hostilities on different areas of the front.

As for Surovikin (Commander of the Air and Space Forces, who directed attacks on the energy infrastructure of Ukraine - Ed.), I think he will work in the "field".

His full-time position, commander of the Air and Space Forces, has not gone anywhere."

Will the missile attacks be intensified

- to this question, Seleznev answered as follows: "If we talk about missile attacks, then the tactics, I think, will be determined collegially, taking into account the military-technical capabilities. If they have a sufficient number of missiles and drones, then they will cover us with them. will there be an intensification at the front? Yes, of course. Now there are not enough resources to achieve Putin's goal, so the number will increase, but the tasks are still the same. The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhnyi spoke about them. He named three critical directions: the east, an attempt to attack our positions on Zaporozhye to secure the land corridor, the third direction is Kyiv".
